My name is Aminah, and I am a professional belly dancer from the Chicagoland area. I have studied and performed many different styles of belly dance, including Egyptian, American Tribal, and Amercian Cabaret. I love them all just the same, as each has it's own specific flavor.
I became interested in belly dance as a child. I was raised on an Arabian horse farm, and was intrigued and mesmerized by the beauty of the Midde Eastern culture, music, and dance. As an adult, I decided to persue my dream of being a dancer. It has become one of the greatest things in my life and I wouldn't give it up for anything.
I also design belly dance costumes of many different styles and tastes. I started out making Elizabethan gowns for the Renaissance Faire, and ventured over into the world of dance costumes. Belly dancing is just too complicated in a corset and hoop skirt. ;-)
