JAHYUT realized his musical talent from as early as high school, where he found himself writing poetry, and rhyming to the sounds of reggae beats. As he matured, he began writing about his personal experiences as a witness to the social indifferences that he has come to know in Jamaica and elsewhere throughout the world.Musically, what sets JAHYUT apart from other artists is his versatility. He is able to write and perform authentic reggae and dancehall, as well as, spit hardcore hip-hop lyrics, with each style being equally profound and original. JAHYUTS debut album, MOUNTAINS TO CLIMB is a testament to this fact. Featuring 14 Blazing songs, the album is an ode to the lesser fortunate peoples of the world and the inevitable struggle that they face as they travel on their life journey. MOUNTAINS TO CLIMB flows effortlessly from one genre to the next, each song holding its own. Regardless of the genre chosen, JAHYUT message remains the same Rastafari Lives and Reign over all. And through recognition of this truth one can overcome any obstacle.
JahGydeYah Records in house super-producer Steven Purpose Chung produces all tracks on the album, which features guest appearances by fellow JahGydeYah family members J.Will, G.Cole, Gorken, Bones, Chink, Nez, and Purpose.
