I am the OFFICIAL & ORIGINAL DJ Matrix! All others are just copycats from the movie or from ME! I was long before the movie (check the age, pimpin!)
I started out an MC back in the early '80s as a member of a group called DefTech...my name was MC Matrik (yeah, I was a rapper!)...after my DJ, Ervin Butler, left to pursue his life as a Jehovah Witness, I took over the DJ'ing and spun many a house party...Back in the 80's there was a group called Mantronik which is where I had adapted the name, Matrik, from...when Mantronik split up, he became Mantronix..therefor, following suit, I changed to Matrix, and because I was now DJ'ing, I became DJ MATRIX...that is some deep history for ya!
Currently, I am the now Co-Owner of Ear 2 Tha Streetz Recordz after partnering up with Chuck "Charlie Hustle" Freeland. I am also the Executive Producer and Head Engineer on ALL E2TS projects.
I am usually all about the business, so, if ya tryin to get to E2TS, you will eventually go through me before ANYTHING goes down. As my boy C-Hustle says, "I'm tha Cheif Rocka around here!"
I am also the founder of the MidWest Affiliates, an organization designed to draw attention to ALL of the artists in tha MidWest stretching from Minnesota to Ohio..I aint gonna give the usual "it's our turn" speach, I'ma just say MIDWEST STAND UP!!!!
