My name is Julien, I'm 48 yrs old and im a musician. I was born in Port-Au-Prince, Haiti. I came to Brooklyn, NY in 1967. Have been here ever since. My dad was the original lead singer of the Nemours Jn Baptiste"Ensemble Aux Callebase" in Haiti, so i guess it was natural that id be one too,since i was around music and bands as long as i can remember. Started out playing Percussions on my dad's band in 1974 and by end of 1976, i taught myself Bass and Guitar. That is also the year I performed with my dad's band for the former president of Haiti, Paul Magloire's Birthday on the upper west side of Manhattan. I love music of all forms. I was in the US Army from 1977-1982,traveled all over the US and did 2 tours to the Republic of Korea. Will never forget those days. Im a single dad of a 6 yr old boy name Jahson. He is my anchor, keeps me out of trouble. I have an older son named Reggie, hes 27. I play the Bass, Rythm, and Lead guitars with a variety of local groups here in NY. In the 80's, I toured with a variey of reggae artists from Jamaica, such as Leroy Sibbles, The Stewart brothers, Judy Mowatt, Sister Carol, Don Carlos and Gold, Yellowman, George Nooks,Toyan,Johnny Osbourn,Frankie Paul,Barrington Levy, Supercat,Frankie Paul and Gregory Isaacs with the Calabash band. Openned up for the Mighty Sparrow in Brooklyn also Tania Maria and Crazy with Judy Mowatt at Avery Fischer Hall Since then, i've played zouk, soca, compas and R&B with Menaka from St Lucia. Right now im playing in my own group The Proof, we play all over the east coast for now. We also play as Nightshift with Jojo Romero. Look out for us!!!!
