About Me

DJ.MANO.GIL website***************************************************** *********Mano Gil (a.k.a. Broder) was born in Belo Horizonte, Brazil and grew up listening to all kinds of music. ///From the godfather James Brown to the roots of brazilian country music, from classics of the Bossa Nova and Samba to the british rock n roll of Queen he managed to learn and accept what was good in each style with no prejudice. ///During his college years he opened up his mind to the music of northeast of brazil and was invited to create an college radio station show about black culture. Art, Music, Sociology, Literature, Cinema... all the manifestations involving the afro culture had space on his weekly show MUNDO NEGRO. ///When he was invited to DJ at a party that took the same name as his radio show he just felt like part of the process of spreading the word. Music unites people, music can talk louder, music can change your mind! ///Now Mano Gil has landed in California and wants to show some of the finest afro influenced music. From the booty-shaking Funk Carioca to the Poetic Chico Buarque Mano Gil is ready to rock the house! /// .... ....Music Happens!!!************************************************** *********** ************************************************************ * ************************************************************ *
