Growing up in Muscle Shoals, Alabama, Jackie Blevins has been nurtured on some of the best music ever recorded. This perhaps helps understand why Jackie has been playing drums since the young age of six. As soon as Jackie’s hands were big enough to wrap around the neck, his father Jack, was teaching him the chords to the music that he had been so heavily influenced by. Jack was a local musician and played the honkytonks and was always looking for a drummer. He solved his problem by teaching Jackie the basics of drums. By the age of 14, Jackie was playing every weekend with several different bands in the Shoals area.Playing in the Shoals area has given Jackie the opportunity to work with some of the most highly respected musicians in the industry. Junior Lowe, David Hood, Wayne Chaney, Kevin Holley, Scott Boyer, and Mike Dillon are some of the more notable musicians but the list goes on and on.Jackie has also spent time in the studio playing with David Hood, Junior Lowe, Clayton Ivey, Spooner Oldham, Wayne Chaney, Ronnie Oldham, Mike Dillon, and Kevin Holley. He also has played shows with Travis Tritt, Joe Diffie, Louise Mandrell, Ken Mellons, John Rich, The Decoys, and Travis Womack. Currently, Jackie is playing with several different artists.Jackie is involved in all kinds of different aspects of music. He is a sound engineer and production manager. His shows include those with Little Richard, Delbert McClinton, Jerry Lee Lewis, Percy Sledge, The Amazing Rhythm Aces, The Decoys, Ken Mellons, and Chad Bradford.Jackie is currently touring throughout the United States with Various Artists. He worked with Chad Bradford for 3 solid years and also took the role of road manager as well.When its time to relax, Jackie likes to spend time in the studio either recording or writing or spending long hours on the Tennessee River with his kids.
