Nasty's is Austin's best dive bar. A hole in the wall that is located behind Flamingo Automotive on Guadelupe and Maiden Ln (just south of 38th), Nasty's is the place you go when you're tired of downtown, sick of expensive covers and $5 beers, and in the mood to be around people who will light your smoke, fetch you a beer, and supply hours of conversation. Nasty's has been owned by the same person for over 20 years. It's a comfortable place with cold AC, cold beers, and a great jukebox. There are pool tables, a dart board and a little stage for dancing (Hip Hop every Monday with DJ Mel), and singing (Open Mic nights first Wednesday of the month and local bands every Saturday). The one thing that most people will say is unique about Nasty's is that the people who go there are so friendly and laid back that you can usually leave knowing yet another cool Austinite. Everyone is there to drink some beer and tell some stories. The best Neighborhood bar. It's all those things and more.
