At the Heart of Texas Regatta (03/10-11) I weighed in 0.1 pound under the lightweight weight limit. Won a GOLD in the Mens Open 4x, a Bronze in the Mens Masters D 4x, but in the Lightweight 1x, I made a complete mess of the race and came in 7th
As all the rain we had in Texas forced the closure of Town Lake during the early summer, this completely messed up training schedules for all rowers in Austin. All Austin based crews pulled out of the US Masters Regatta in Oak ridge Tennessee, and only one double went to the World Masters Regatta in Croatia.
As I could not row, I dusted my bikes down and blew off the cobwebs at the Veloway , in South West Austin.
After a couple of laps of the Veloway I decided I was ready to ride in the Hotter'N Hell Hundred in Wichita Falls, Which I managed finished in much better shape than I should have (except for my arse), and in a better time and place than I could have wished for. The HHH photographs have been loaded.
The Austin Huns RFC 15's Texas rugby season will get underway next month, but don't forget the Rugby World Cup is currently underway in France.
In November I will be competing in a rowing marathon , this year the crews aim is to retain the gold medal we won last year, but in a faster time.
I have also started working up to the Bandera 100K in January, so my millage is now climbing. To help with this endevour I joined the Rogue Training Winter Trail Running Program
