DJ Slick is one of the UK’s young up & coming DJ’s soon to take the world by storm. From the youthful age of 12 when he was given his first pair of decks he learnt the skill of mixing and hasn’t looked back since. He originally started mixing bashment but over the years grew to love all types of music and became a very versatile DJ.
At the age of 15 he got his first slot on radio (Heat 96.6Fm) both hosting and deejaying which gave him a boost in confidence and has played on numerous stations since including FM and internet based stations such as; Station Fm, Bosey Fm, Axe Fm and Sweet Fm where you can still currently catch him Every Wednesday 6-8pm 89.4Fm. Although, Slick’s ambition is to get a slot on a commercial radio station.
From the age of 16, DJ Slick took a break from the music to concentrate on his education and until recent has just come back on the scene, while still pursuing a degree in Entertainment Systems BSc(Hons).
In late 2006, he discovered how much he wanted to pursue his deejaying career and started going along to raves with long time friend DJ Longers(G-Ents). This soon lead to him playing at a couple of raves alongside G-Ents, not long after hearing him play they realised Slick’s abilities and asked him to join them in which he accepted and became the ‘Newest Recruit’ to the G-Ent Family.
G-ents are at present one of the UK’s finest DJ, Promotions and MC teams, they have created and promoted raves, live events, weekenders and showcases. Events such as: ’How to be a Gent’, a plush ‘Suited and Booted’ event has became so successful that a month later ’Ladies meet Gents’, became the spin off to this prestigious and very entertaining event.
In 2007, Slick has definitely made a major stride in progression towards his goals, he already has received a number of solo bookings and also residencies at different weekly/monthly events including: Stunnaz@HC, I Got 5 On It@HC, Exquiste Thursdays@Charlie Browns and is also starting a brand new residency at the prestigious
Wax Bar in the West End every other Saturday.
