"Get Wid It!" Video
Dir. Mark Robertson
Be.ILL, also known as Bling from the Definite & Bling duo & one of Auckland’s most prolific MC’s, has undergone a name change for his upcoming full-length album “Where To From Hereâ€.
Be.ILL touches down with a blast of heavyweight metaphor & lyrical illustration over a sonic landscape of electro-street-soul. Bridging the gap from the Middle East to NZ, Be.ILL goes against the grain breaking current hip hop trends. He comes clean & empowers with an understanding self reflective inner voice that tackles todays issues and deals with them.
Bridging the gap from the Middle East to NZ; Be.ILL goes against the grain breaking current hip hop trends.
He comes clean & empowers with an understanding self reflective inner voice that tackles todays issues and deals with them.
Check out his blend of good values & conscious party flows seething over crank club anthems to pimped out niceness, while he collaborates on his upcoming album (Where To From Here) with longtime friend and beatmaker/producer DJ M.O.N.
Be.ILL, aka Kms (Khalid Mohammed El-Sharief) spent his childhood & early teens growing up in Dubai, UAE.
Yearly he went on 3-month long pilgrimages to Palestine, where his Grandfather had prospered and family bloodline originated.
This opened his eyes to something that remained deep inside him that he
desired to express.
At age 14 he was lucky enough to move to New Zealand with his brothers
& sisters to study & get a recognised education.
He became a successful design student & class representative due to his amicable communication skills; but he felt his destiny was not yet being fulfilled.
Music was to become a vehicle for his expression and it subsequently took over from his studies, much against his Muslim family's values (to begin with).
Be.ILL got his first taste of hip hop MC’ing, seeing local talents at Auckland
nite-clubs.
Eager to master the microphone skills he felt he had inside him, it wasn't long
until he found a producer to record his 1st demo. (DJ M.O.N.)
To further his experiences, Be.ILL set about collaborating with locals such as
the Sugarlicks Record label & DJ Definite, whom with he released his first album (Definite & Bling - Flavourism, Capitol Recordings 2006) and met while
performing as the MC for Batucada Sound Machine.
Be.ILL has many live shows, freestyle jams, festivals & performances under his belt & is well known for his live energy on the mic & freestyle ability.
Now, Be.ILL is getting back to his roots on "Where To From Here", re-uniting with longtime friend and beatmaker/producer DJ M.O.N.
Expect a diverse range of influences with good vibes & conscious flow!
