JEWELZ-I am a 30 year old, veteran of the good ol’ days. I am a modern day hippie and very happy go lucky. I enjoy anything crazy, artsy fartsy and erotic. I love tattoos, and a lot of people are sporting some of my work. I love to write and dream big. Rock dollz for me was a big step in the right direction. I love knowing that what help I can offer can make all the difference for a band trying to make it in todays music industry. , and my daughter Chloe. I manage a band called NERVE and well, here I am, JUST JEWELZ

font And in comes Me! My name is Ginababy, I am 36 years young, and come with MANY life experiences. I am now, and always have been, a music FREAK! You can’t even compete with this Gal when it comes to Music Trivia, and that is because of my passion and interest in the industry. I have friends in the business who do VERY WELL, as well as famous acquaintances through them. My reasons for becoming a RockDoll is just obvious , I have many bands contacting me on a daily basis here, most of which sound GREAT and deserve the opportunity to be heard. If I can help to make that happen for them, I’d feel great satisfaction. Now that you have a bit of scoop on me, help me show the RockDollz what I can do with them (being the baby in here and all). LETS GET THIS PARTY STARTED MUSICIANS!!

ATTENTION!!!! For bands looking or requesting any reviews or help with promoting etc, you must send your info to [email protected] (a new email will be coming soon) If you're a club or bar looking to start up a show or have ROCK DOLLZ set up a show then again please email us with what you're interested in. THANK YOU!!!!!.

Also, we would appreciate the patience. Since we have started we have had an enormous response and are working hard to keep up with it. Let me tell you NOW, that my partner Tiffany and I always discuss what is next, who will be featured and what shows to promote and so forth. We will not chase you. You must email or msg us in order to get our attention. We are just way too busy. Also, we have to pick and choose randomly as to what we work on. Some things we just cannot get to, but we are trying. It will go by importance, ambition, your emails, keeping in contact, updating us, and also posting our banner helps. All in all you are all chasing a dream, and we, the Rock Dollz are just believing in you. It is that simple.

We have completed another successful show at the Red Square, where we will be holding Saturday Showcases. If you wish to play in St.Catherine's, then contact our partner, WAR BY CHOICE at [email protected]. He will take good care of you. Since partnering with War by Choice, we have been able to book many shows that will be happening in the near future and have made many new contacts across Canada. We have built great relationships with many bands and look forward to more. If you request us to be at a show, either do a review of the show or take pictures we will quite possibly send one of our agents out for you...you have to be nice though. Take care.

Question-

What three things are most important for an Indie band to remember?

ANSWERS by the PRO's

The three things that are most important to remember are:

To narrow it down to only three things is tough. I think all indie bands – unsigned or on indie labels – need to remember that the relationships you build with people pay off. Every day you are part of the band you have the opportunity to meet people. You meet bands in your city, bands that tour through your city, show promoters, media workers, and of course your fans. Every relationship gets you closer to where you want to be so keep in touch with who you meet. When you get to the major label level you often times have help from people on your team (managers, publicists, booking agents, etc.) who keep these relationships. As an indie band, it’s on you to manage these – so remember to make friends with everyone you can. Be genuine with your friends and don’t be pushy with your band. If people like you, they will check out your CD, book your band, write a review or just come out to a show. If you are a jerk they won’t.

Remember that “getting signed” doesn’t mean you made it or that you are going to be known everywhere and make money. Signing with a label means you are going to have to work just as hard or harder than you ever have before. Sure labels help out but hard work on the part of the band doesn’t stop. Some bands don’t even need a label since it’s easier than ever to record and distribute music, so you can go it alone. In any case, remember to try to do some work for the band everyday. Get in the habit of working for the band now.

Lastly remember why you are in a band. Why do you practice? Why did you record the demo/EP/CD? Why do you do an overnight drive crammed in a van to play a community center show to 50 people? I assume you love music. I assume you have something to say in your music. Maybe you want to be rich and famous. Whatever it is, keep the goal in mind but have fun being in the band. Realize that you will have struggles along the way, vans break down, some shows can really suck, some people really won’t like your music…whatever it is remind yourself why you do what you do. When the band becomes more of a burden and you stop having fun you should rethink why you still play.

So to sum it up remember:
1) to build relationships and network
2) getting signed does not mean your work ends
3) remember why you started a band and have fun with it
