THE LIONHEARTS

THE NOISE
RETURN TO SELF
LAST WINTER
Influences: THE LIONHEARTS BIO
Not quite sure where to place themselves in the scope of contemporary
music, The LIONHEARTS have formed from a solid background, with
influences ranging from the sweet sounds of Kelly Clarkson to the
brutal sounds of PANTERA.Though THE LIONHEARTS formed in 2005, it was
definitely not the beginning for each of the Members.Fronting the band Is 20 year old Diana Meyer, otherwise known as DIANA
GONE WRONG. In early 2003, Diana moved to Seattle, Washington, to
collaborate with Seattle based producer Jim Wolfe.Together they wrote
and recorded a 10 song CD, and off went Diana, back to her home town
of Orange County California to perform their songs...to anyone who
would listen. Within the next year, Diana collaborated and found
guidance from artists such as Tom Dumont (NO DOUBT), Holly Knight
(writer of PAT BENATAR's "Love is a Battlefield" and AEROSMITH's "Rag
Doll"), and Jeremy Popoff (LIT). On December 18th 2004, DIANA GONE
WRONG was to open for LIT as they came home from their Unites States
tour. Also on the bill was HALFWAYHOME, a band fronted by
singer/guitarist Chas Smith. Acquainted back stage, Diana and Chas
would have never imagined that from then on they would be inseparable,
and determined to take on the music industry, together.Chas Smith definitely had his share of hard work. He wrote and
co-produced HALFWAYHOME' s 2004 release "A Brand New Subdivision."
Before meeting Diana, he had toured all of the United States and
Europe as well. Diana and Chas knew that musically they had something
special together, but there was a problem. The equation was missing
something, and that was the musicianship of Jarrod Alexander and Dom
Macaluso.Jarrod and Dom were no strangers. For the past few years they both
had played major rolls in the orange county music scene. Jarrod
Alexander's resume includes starting Orange County's DEATH BY STEREO,
and recording for bands such as THE HOPE CONSPIRACY, THE SUICIDE FILE
and A STATIC LULLABY. Not to mention he filled in for Josh Freese on a
European festival Tour with punk legends THE VANDALS. Dom kept a busy
schedule as well. If you are a heavy metal fan, its most likely you
have heard of THROWDOWN. Since starting the band with a group of
friends, Dom had spent quite some time playing to thousands of
screaming metal kids and fans all over the world.Introduced by mutual friends in 2005, Jarrod and Chas got down to
small talk. After a cup of Jo', Jarrod walked out to his drum filled
black Suburban, and popped in Chas's two song demo. A few phone calls
later to Dom, it was over. The LIONHEARTS were born. After a few
practices, and a few nights filled with red wine and acoustic guitars,
THE LIONHEARTS were ready to head into the studio. The next phone call
to be made was to good friend Jamie Arentzen (AMERICAN HIFI) who hoped
on board to help out in the studio. Before anyone could even blink,
THE LIONHEARTS began playing shows in their home town of Orange
County, and people all over the county had their pop hooks molded in
their minds. With members from such bands as A STATIC LULLUBY, THROWDOWN, DIANA
GONE WRONG, HALFWAYHOME,THE SUICIDE FILE, and DEATH BY STEREO, THE
LIONHEARTS poses enough diversity to continue writing music for years
to come.In the absence of such great female fronted rock bands like JOAN JETT
AND THE BLACKHEARTS, PAT BENATAR, and Debby Harrie of BLONDIE, the
rock world is still searching for the next new band to step up and
fill those shoes. THE LIONHEARTS collective, size 32 sneakers are
ready to stand in and give it a shot.Even though the story of THE LIONHEARTS as a whole has just begun, the
name itself explains the passion and drive of these four dreamers. THE
LIONHEARTS plan to create music together, and bring stages to life for
years to come.THE NOISE BIO

Laura Distasi has come a long way since her childhood days in southern New Jersey. With strikingly dark features, and a vocal timbre that rivals the angels, Laura Distasi is far beyond her years with a talent that is as genuine as her lyrics. You will not forget either.
Laura spent her formative years in Medford, NJ. Her performing careers began when she was able to talk and persuade the neighborhood kids to play supporting roles in her basement productions. This quickly evolved into songwriting, musical theatre and piano lessons. By her sophomore year in high school, Laura had begun a fulltime songwriting career that would bear witness to her gift of song and play a key role in the birth of her dark and haunting style. A gifted musician, she would soon emerge as a woman on a much bigger stage in a much bigger town.
After emerging from her concentration as a songwriter and packing several local coffee houses with adorning fans and friends, Laura headed for Boston to attend the Berklee College of Music. With a major in songwriting and the hopes of succeeding in a big city, Laura was soon confronted with another devastating reality. Her dark and experimental style was not well received by the burgeoning jazz scene and intellectual circles that she sought acceptance from. She also worked feverishly to form bands and collaborate, but had no luck finding her niche. Tension was running high but with a twist of fate, she would find her sound in a young man from South Carolina.
David Little was born in Greenville, South Carolina where he grew up in a musical family. Taking inspiration from his father, David played guitar and drums from the age of 3 and formed his first band with his brother and some neighborhood friends in his early teens. They soon began playing gigs at local venues and became the talk of the town.
After being the first freshman ever accepted into Greenvilles Fine Arts Center and winning various awards, he was also selected by audition to be a part of the South Carolina All State Jazz Ensemble for all 4 years of high school. Though jazz music came naturally, rock was in his blood. He joined a band called Bourbon Street Extension that released a CD and began extensive touring. Soon realizing he needed to continue his education, he applied to various colleges and received a scholarship to the prestigious music at the University of North Texas.
Excelling rapidly in performance at North Texas, David also found a new love in electronic music. Obsessively buying equipment and self-teaching into the wee hours of the morning, he honed his craft. As Davids eclectic musical and production style began to take shape, he quickly attracted the attention of many local and national artists. David soon caught the ear of Boston band and long time friends, Those Who Wait. Laura Distasi, who was dating the lead singer in the band at the time, heard Davids work on the record and knew she had found what she was looking for.
David heard Lauras songs and fell in love with the project. The initial collaboration was tedious as the two were very far apart. Lauras songs "Expectations" and "No City Life which both appear on the EP, were produced by David in SC with ProTools session and then emailed to Laura in Boston, who would then record vocals to the track. This pain staking process was grueling but eventually paid off.
The new EP Winter Never Quits is a testament to Lauras deeply powerful writing and Davids intelligent digital mastery. The single "No City Life flaunts a beautifully shuffling beat, descending piano chords and dark lyrical core further confirming their musical diversity. Other tracks such as Stay and Moonsong reveal the essence of Lauras melodic and moody influences with an intimate stripped down production and haunting vocal.
Laura and David have both relocated to New York City in 2005 where they are working full-time on writing and producing new music. They are currently touring the East Coast and gearing up for their new album.
