DARTRIIX are Fumiya Tanaka and RADIQ aka Yoshihiro HANNO.
They are based in two distant cities, Tokyo and Paris, though their works don't even hint at the distance; the grooves are tight, sequences complex & the sound objects sculptured like pieces of art. DARTRIIX are focusing on 4/4 floor-oriented minimal music, but never fall into the temptation of "easiness" with which this music format is often regarded. Instead they are always adapting the rules and structure with their sensibilities and vivid ideas, A simple question "What kind of music will be made if we work together?" led Fumiya and RADIQ to form DARTRIIX. Two Japanese maestros swapping ideas to create a new breed of minimal music taking the best of both worlds. After working together for a while the music came out as a chain reaction of various musical elements - the end result a quite chaotic and complex fusion of house and techno as sound objects intertwine with each other and sequences continuously change through tracks. All tracks are "minimal but complex", and "solid but elastic" as they themselves describe their work. New breed stuff. They release their first full album "DARTRIIX" on their own imprint "op.disc" in Nov.2007. This album is the beautiful contrast of the physical and the mechanical in music ... and there's more to come for sure.
