About Me
Vince K is a freelance DJ in New York City. He has been spinning music for 24 years . The launch of his career in dance clubs began in 1986 at a New York City nightclub called "Bently's." He played there as a guest DJ several times. This experience opened a few doors for him as he received many offers from club promoters within the New York City area. He also began meeting people in the music industry who arranged for him to receive promotional copies of un-released records. These promotional records came from major record labels such as : Strictly Rhythm, Masters At Work , King-Street / Nite Grooves , Subliminal Records , Wave Records , Yellow-Orange , West End , North-Cott , Def Mix, Def-Jam , Soundmen On Wax , etc . . . .Vince K began his career spinning r & b, hip-hop and reggae. As time progressed through the years, his genre of music began moving toward Club / Dance Music. ( House ) He received many compliments as well as bookings with this genre of music. Vince still plays r & b, hip-hop and reggae when necessary. However , his specialty is "house music." As a result of spinning house , he met with more people within the industry . He began receiving more compliments, which encouraged him to continue.
In 1992 , he received an offer for a steady position as a DJ at a dance club called "Escuelita." This was a popular club which included many genres of music. It was a predominately latin crowd , however many other types of people began visiting because of its successful reputation. Vince played at "Escuelita" from 1992 to 1997. In 1998, the original owners of "Escuelita" sold the club. New management immediately renovated & expanded the club. It is presently called "The New Escuelita" & it remains successful . It is sometimes known as "Esco Club."Vince K continued playing music at other dance clubs throughout NYC Manhattan, Queens and the Bronx. These clubs included :"Club Vanity", "Hatfields" , "Studio 84" , "Club Alisae" ( formerly known as "Side-Street" ) ,"Up & Down", "Spirit", "Club Shelter" , "The Tunnel", "The Warehouse","The Playground", "Club Expose" , "NYC Booms", "Club Ohm", "Club Vida" , "Mi Gente Cafe" , "Club Passion" , "The Ice Palace" on Fire Island & many more .Vince K's most memorable experiences as a DJ were working at the dance clubs which included a much larger dance floor capacity. They were , "NYC Booms" , "The Tunnel" and "The Warehouse." While working at these large-capacity dance clubs , Vince has had the pleasure of meeting and or working with many successful people in the business. This included promoters, record producers , established DJ's and the owners of major record labels.They are :
1. Greg Carmichael - producer , arranger , instrumentalist , label-owner, founder of the popular singing group "Inner Life" featuring Jocelyn Brown
& the owner of the popular dance club "NYC Booms."
2. Mike Stone - legendary promoter of "Bonds International" ,"Studio 54", "Melons" & "The Warehouse."
3. Charles Jackson - legendary promoter of "Tracks" , "The Sound Factory Bar", co-partner with promoter Mike Stone for the popular dance clubs "The Warehouse" & "The Playground."
4. Mel Cheren - owner & C.E.O. of "West End Records" , former financial backer of the popular dance club "The Paradise Garage."
5. Allen Jeffrey - Director of "4 The Record" DJ Record Pool along with current owner Judy Weinstein. The original founder of "4 The Record" is the legendary David Mancuso . Allen is also the president & owner of "Soul Con Fusion NYC Records .
6. John Blair - successful promoter of the popular dance clubs :
"The Roxy", "Spirit," "Crobar."

8. Nicky Siano - legendary DJ / Producer / Remixer in association with "West End Records", "The Gallery" and "Studio 54."

Louie Vega - Grammy Award Winning DJ / Producer/ Remixer , Co-owner of "Masters At Work", "Vega" & "Kenlou" records along with legendary DJ / Producer/ Remixer Kenny Dope . . . .Soon after Vince K began meeting these successful & prominent people within the music industry, he began recording & remixing various different projects of his own. He has performed remixes for many popular recording artists far too many to mention. He has also played them during his guest DJ appeaances at several dance clubs throughout the city. Many of these remixes have yet to be released. Vince K is currently working on a remix project for the legendary singing sensations "Melba Moore" & "Pepper Mashay" as well as a few other recording artists. He travels each year in March to the phenominal "Winter Music Conference" in Miami to improve his remixing abilities as well as enjoy the many dance club events & festivities along South Beach . He hopes to continue spinning , remixing & learning everything there is to know about producing & remixing music for many more years to come.Vince has also had the pleasure of working with other known DJ's such as : Danny Krivit , Ken Carpenter , Ken Terry , Tanco , Manny Styles , Andre Collins , Fred Pierce , Calvin Smith , Donna Edwards , David Depino , Frankie Paradise , Jon Martin , MK , Trini , Missy , Kim B , Mike Joyner , Mike Da Wizard , DJ Rico , DJ Chip-Chop & many more .Another great memorable experience for Vince K was held on October 30th, 1999 . Greg Carmichael hired Vince as one of the DJ's for a huge "Halloween" Masquerade Ball in honor of the legendary "Grace Jones." This spectacular event took place at the The New York Service Center. At least 4,000 people came to this event .Vince K enjoys his life as a DJ / Remixer & hopes to one day excel in his career internationally. The kind of dance music he plays , whether it is "R & B" , "Hip-Hop", "Reggae" or "Deep Underground Vocal & Tribal House Music", . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . he always makes sure that it's very "soulful" with lots of rhythm !
