Comparing religious beliefs (or lack of) in the world, Philosophies and cultures, camping, music, writing, reading, good movies with good friends, COOKING AND BAKING and entertaining, world history and anthropology (especially Native, Egyptian and "Celtic"), Folklore and mythology of all kinds is kind of a small obsessive hobbie around here. I spend the bulk of my time with my children and they too are of a curious nature. We conserve nature and respect it. We love going to the arboretum to be in it.
With over 250 CD's it's safe to say I like just about everything. Some clashing fav's? Moshav, Tom McRae, Golden Bough, Tempest, Dar Williams, McKennett, Andrea Boccelli, Hinder, James Blunt, NIN, Three Days Grace, Big and Rich, Fruit, James Taylor, Keith Urban, Meatloaf, Corporate Avenger, Billy Idol, anything Irish or Scottish is a safe bet and I'm secretly addicted to those Lifescapes compilation CD's at Target. I must have 10 or 11 or them...
I'm a total movie nut. I don't get to get out to the theaters much though. But we are Netflix hounds. If it's totally obscure...I've probably seen it! I love all those corny martial arts/Action flicks...Transporter, War, XXX, and yes all the Steven Seagal movies LOL! Seven Samurai, Shogun, Shaka Zulu even I love them all. I'm also a big sucker for mysteries, and Native American themes like Thief of Time. That's me...Thunder Heart to Miss Marple, just a ball of confusion.
N.C.I.S, Supernatural, Bones, Ghost Whisperer, CSI. Anything with a good spooky mystery will do. (assuming we can actually watch a show.) Mostly we're watching PBS and Thomas the Tank Engine though! I like the travel and history shows on PBS too, does that make me old?
We're almost better off going by author here. Anything by Laurall K. Hamilton, R.A. Salvatore, Anne Rice, Mark Twain, Dan Brown, Harry Potter is cool to share w/my son, Barbara Hambly's Sold down the River series is awesome, but anything by her is good, Joh's work is really great too if you like old world Japanese culture, loved Twisted by Deaver too. I also love and collect classics like To kill a mocking bird, and have a pretty good group of books on or about the occult/myths. I'm pushing close to 1,000 books now, some rarities from the late 1800's, so it's a safe bet to say I like to read.
