BIO:
Dubbed 'Phatal' in 1994 by his former mentor, DJ Rectangle, for his proverbial 'stabs and cuts' on the turntables, 'the Phatal DJ' has evolved from a hip-hop turntablist to an eclectic mixer.
His journey through the DJ world is slightly paralleled by his work in the entertainment industry. Starting off at JNCO, once infamous for their 'rave' inspired wide-leg jeans, he promoted the lifestyle of the company and provided his musical direction to shape the company's image. Next, his diverse range of talents were utilized at Avalon Attractions, a So. Cal based concert production company where he coordinated shows and managed to slip himself in to DJ a VIP lounge or two.
His latest venture was at the GRAMMY Foundation (the education arm of the Recording Academy or GRAMMY's) where he helped create a music camp for talented high school students. While there, he utilized his DJ and promotional background to reach out to his network and provide the best possible experience for these students. Teaching the DJ career track at GRAMMY Camp with the likes of Jason Bentley, Garth Trinidad, DJ Faust and Shortee, and Z-Trip instilled 'the Phatal DJ' the drive to never give up on his dream and to one day, like those named, become as widely recognized for his contribution to the music industry. Like his influences, Phatal hopes to naturally progress into music production.
On the horizon, he is currently co-producing the 2008 First Friday series at the Natural History Museum in Los Angeles.
