A TESTIMONY: "IF VINTAGE WAS ERIC S. JARMONS"- First, I must thank Jesus Christ my Lord and Savior for answering my prayers by giving me the strength and courage to change and to write about it on MySpace so that maybe someone can be helped if they are experiencing the same struggle. Call me a hypocrite, call me a weak Christian, call me a fake Preacher, call me a heathen, call me a womanizer, call me nigga, call me stupid, call me arrogant, call me a dog, call me broke, call me a drop out, call me "pig", call me a divorcee, call me brokenhearted, call me corny, call me lame, call me horrible, call me a chararcter. If you choose to call me any of those I couldn't argue with you, at some point in my life my actions and my realities lined right up with all of those things. However, while calling me all of those things please include one other thing......REDEEMED! Because Christ gave His life for me on the cross, I don't have to stay under the titles that my actions or realities have placed over me. So, today is the best day of my life, why, because I am making a choice to give up some things for Christ. I'm not waiting on satan to stop tempting my flesh with things that constantly creates an interference between God and I. I am choosing to say no to some stuff that usually saying yes to feels so good. I told my good, good friend Marsha Carter the other day that I just can't do it anymore. I can't live for two different Gods. IF YOU WANT TO CHANGE, THERE'S GOING TO HAVE TO BE A LIFESTYLE CHANGE. I don't want to be Vintage the host, the comedian, Vintage the club guy. I want to be Eric S. Jarmons the Christian mature man, the preacher, the teacher, the spiritual friend, etc. That's who I am. Most of you on Space don't even know who I really am. The battle of living two different lifestyles has run it's course in my life. I am 31 years old, I've been a Christian since I was 9-c'mon it's just time out playing Christian and actually be one. Monday you get Eric, Tuesday you get Eric, Wednesday at the Woodward you get Vintage the host, Thursday at the Rhino you get Vintage the host, Friday at ESKO you get Vintage the club guy, Saturday you get Eric or Vintage depends on what's going on, and then Sunday you get Rev. Eric S. Jarmons associate minister/sunday school teacher/youth church facilitator at the Oakland Ave. Missionary Baptist Church. God needs me to be me every day, every second, every minute, so He can properly use me. There is work for us young adult Christians to do. Please, wake up and see the work that calls us. I love making people laugh and feel good while hosting and telling jokes, however, there is nothing in the world that I have experience in 31 years of living that is more rewarding like sharing Christ with someone. I'm sorry it is impossible for me to be effective in leading others to Jesus Christ if I'm promoting parties that indirectly encourages ungodly type of behaviors. That's just REAL TALK. That's no disrespect to any of my friends who are promoters ; I have the upmost respect for my Christian brothers who are entrepreneurs: Koolaide "Good People", Dre "StreetVision", Ellis "GOODFriend". We've had solid conversations about this before. You ask why, why in the heck am I sharing this with the MySpace world? Because, I want someone to know that no matter what, where, and how many times you've done it; there's always room to change. Someone said one day that the, "biggest room in the world is the room for improvement and change." I want to help someone possibly understand only what you do for Christ will last. And the time is right now for us young adult Christians to stand out from the in-crowd and began to create a crowd that Christ filled and Christ led. I'm not trying to act "holy than thou", but I just want everything God has for me and the only way to receive that is to operate totally in His will and do His work. In closing, I'm done hanging in the clubs, drinking, foul language and conversations and everything else that cause fellowship breakage between God and I. Is it going to be easy HECK NO, but we all can do it with God. "I CAN DO ALL THINGS THROUGH CHRIST WHICH STRENGTHENS ME. Philippians 4:13. My MySpace page and blogs would be dedicated to spiritual uplifting. It is my prayer that: 1) you read this message in the spirit or those who are not saved ask God to connect the message to you. 2) That you seriously pray for me right after you have read the last period. 3) That you seriously consider living a life that God can truly use you as His visual mouthpiece. MYSPACE FRIENDS, PUT THE MIRROR IN FRONT OF YOUR FACE AND ASK YOURSELF....."CAN GOD USE ME WHILE I DO WHAT I DO, AFTER ALLLLL HE'S DONE FOR ME"? Vintage (signing off for good) eric s. jarmons(signing back on) GOD, I HOPE I'VE HELPED SOMEBODY, SO MY LIVING WON'T BE IN VAIN.
