Phi Eta Psi Fraternity was established on April 5th, 1965 by eight beautiful young black men known as the Eternal Founding Fathers. These men based the solidarity of the fraternity on three main goals:(1) To strive for academic excellence;
(2) To instill and maintain a strong sense of self pride and cultural awareness;
(3) To have economic growth as well as social balance.Using these goals as their tools, these determined black men began the enormous task of establishing a brotherhood of men, spreading the powerful words of Black Unity, and achieving success in all institutions of higher education.Phi Eta Psi is based and built on true trust and belief in one's self and in one’s brother. The everlasting fraternal bonds of Brotherhood should be experienced by all young men of today's world and tomorrow’s future. The realms of "Green and Gold" offer a man the opportunity to learn firsthand how to lead a group, how to be a productive group member, how to plan and follow through with a project, and how to evaluate and respond to different lifestyles and value systems.Excellent academic work is valued within Phi Eta Psi. We, therefore, provide academic assistance to any member who feels the need for it. Yet, the academic status of all members remains confidential. The men of Phi Eta Psi maintain a high level of success through a FOR REAL incomparable Brotherhood that is attained only by the individual dedication of the Brothers. We can look across the nation at over three decades of progress that lend us a certain pride in and enjoyment of our hard work in expanding our sacred Brotherhood.In addition to the loyalty, support and encouragement that Phi Eta Psi provides it members, we also have the love of our sister group, The Emeralds. They stand ever ready to encourage, support, and help members of Phi Eta Psi achieve their goals.
