unlucky for jerks

About Me

I'm the most fascinating person I know. I find myself almost unreasonably compelling. I get chills just thinking about me. My mom says that i'm not all that cool, but I beg to differ and on this matter we have agreed to disagree. I'm beyond cool to the point where I'm just beyond.span.blacktext12 { visibility:visible !important; background-color:transparent;

My Interests

Horror movies, mostly those from Japan or Italy, wine, cuting my hair into fetching bangs, Azn food of all kinds, going to the beach when it's hot out and hiding under a blanket when it's not, playing with people until they're all "stop playing!", words, road trips, swimming, corporate expense accounts, DeGrassi Junior High Trivia, Sims Nightlife, turning in 140 page production books, Silent Hill 2, Canadians, personal grooming, kittens and babies.

I'd like to meet:

the late Patricia Highsmith and the current David Cronenberg

Music:

16 Horsepower, Boss Hog, Nick Cave, Rocket from the Crypt, Blondie, the Bloc Party, Interpol, His Name is Alive, The Smiths, Dead Can Dance, Siouxsie and the Banshees, The Clash, Tricky, M.I.A, Peaches, Bauhaus, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Interpol, Fleetwood Mac, Lucinda Williams, PJ Harvey, Nick Cave, The Swans, Missy Elliot, Kate Bush, et al.

Movies:

Notes on a Scandal, Shattered Glass, Videodrome, Shaun of the Dead, Parents, Waiting for Guffman, Boogie Nights and Magnolia, Near Dark, Portrait of a Lady, Visitor Q, Paradise Lost, Suicide Club,- anything either gory, black comedy-ish or sci-fi-y, the occasional period piece and well-done documentaries. I loathe romantic comedies and these new Hollywood remakes of awesome films from the 70's and 80's.

Television:

my criteria is as follows- anything with uncomfortable humor or homoeroticism and if that fails, I like shows about people investigating murders

Books:

House of Leaves, Strangers on a Train, Feed, Crash, The Sweet Hereafter and Affliction, Battle Royale, The People's History of the United States, The Secret History, thrashy mystery novels as well as the assorted works of Flannery O'Connor, Joyce Carol Oates, and the incomprable Patricia Highsmith. literary ladies represent.

Heroes:

I like badass women like Joan Jett, Barbara Ehrenreich and my dear mom. I like women who direct movies like Jane Campion and Kathryn Bigelow. I also like women who like other women and who help women with kind words and deeds. I also idolize the women and men who work for the betterment of society.
