About Me

..

My Interests

Cannot deal in generalities... only specifics. There's so much to me that is me. But if you know me... you know me.

I'd like to meet:

In my free time, I scout for the 308 Blues Club and Cafe. Right now, we are in need of a house band to play through the week and accompany visiting musicians and vocalists. Must be able to play diverse styles and genres, and be able to have own signature sound. If you are interested, stop by or drop me some MP3's.
We also seek a DJ that has a local following. In other words, can you bring the crowd? The DJ gig will run Saturday nights from 11 - until. Also, we are in need of lady barkeeps and other lounge people. I am revamping the face of the 308 and bringing more of a youthful vibe. "The Blues is Cool" and we aim to keep it alive for future generations.
The 308 Blues Club and Cafe is located in Indianola, Mississippi - adjacent to the newly opened B.B. King Museum and Delta Interpretive Center. The 308 will be the premier night spot in the Delta. If you want to be apart of the team, drop me a line or stop by.View My Friends | 308 Blues Bar | Add Comment
You know where you can find me...

Music:

My musical tastes are wide and varied. However, I am currently experimenting with alternate dropped-tunings, slide guitar, and roots vocal performance. Having experienced many life changing events while living in the Mississippi Delta ; my style has become more blues based. However, I do enjoy the heavier sounds.

Movies:

Night of the Living Dead - George Romero is the man! Just about anything zombie related with some sort of social meaning. Se7en with Morgan Freeman (he owns Ground Zero Blues Club in Clarksdale, Mississippi and just opened one in Memphis!) and Brad Pitt (give it up for Fight Club, 12 Monkeys, Interview with a Vampire, Mr. and Mrs. Smith - much love to Angelina Jolie). Anything with Laurence Fishburne (a very underrated actor in my opinion who deserves more cred), and Al Pacino. Gotta give love to my main female lead, Pam Grier... and a newly revived infactuation for Vanessa Williams - she ain't no Ugly Betty!

Television:

Family Guy, The King of Queens, My Wife and Kids, Half-n-Half, and Girlfriends (gotta get my Persia White fix). I watch alot of syndicated TV. And yes, CNN - Keeping you connected to the world. I usually spend more time on line than glued to the TV.

Books:

Reading is fundamental - Anything spiritual, motivational, techy, or dealing with finances (especially in this current state of America).

Heroes:

My father... though I don't think he knows. If you ever have a moment to speak with him, you'll know what I mean. Tell him his son thinks the world of him.
