Clarksdale, Mississippi has long been known as "ground zero" to blues afficianados from around the world. This statement rings true to just about anyone who has a deep love for blues music. It all started here. That's why Ground Zero Blues Club was created -- to celebrate the area's rich blues heritage and to provide a forum in which that heritage can continue.
Opened in May 2001, Ground Zero Blues Club is owned by Clarksdale businessman Bill Luckett, actor Morgan Freeman, and local resident Howard Stoval, formerly of Stovall Plantation (home of Muddy Waters). For those who are looking for a true Delta Blues experience at its very best, Ground Zero Blues Club is the place to go.
