Smash Mechanics, also known as SMC, is a hip-hop group with a classic New York sound coupled with an electronic edge. Comprised of three members, the group features rappers/producers truPro and Phaze Future, as well as veteran producer Dub.Z (who brought you such tracks as Ghostface's hit "Tush" featuring Missy Elliot, as well as songs for Capone, Sean Price, and many others). The duo spits over a range of tracks from Dub.Z's soul sample bangers to their own dark and melodic blend of synthesizers, samples and live instrumentation, which all serve as a backdrop for their unique anthems and stories. In a world populated by cookie-cutter rappers and backpacker boredom, SMC is definitely bringing a new sound and some undeniable lyrics to the game.The Smash Mechanics have worked with such artists as Aftermath's Stat-Quo, Bahamadia, High and Mighty, Network Reps, Tommy T, DJ Static, and local NYC groups like The Sleepwalkas, as well as others. Other credits include the theme song the Sony Playstation 2 game "State of Emergency" (Rockstar Games), as well as scoring on the first quarter 2006 "And-1 Mixtape DVD". You can also find them in stores and online shops on the compilation album "You Don't Know the Half", featuring artists such as Little Brother and Talib Qweli. Studio work aside, Smash Mechanics is focused on bringing a solid live performance to every show, having opened for such acts as The Roots, X-Ecutioners, Run DMC and more. Simply put: Smash Meezy knows how to rock a party.Currently, you can find them performing at venues in the US, including their home town of NYC.
