Trumpeter/Arranger Cliff "Bear" Jetton has played in and around the Portland, Oregon area for over 20 years - big band jazz, combo jazz, pop, rock, blues, soul, and worship music. His current "main gigs" are as one third of the the Gil Reynolds Trion and as one fourth of the the jazz quartet, Gentle Rain. Additionally he sits in with several other local musicians, and has recently been used for studio work. He also plays regularly with the worship band at 2nd Street Community church in his hometown of Newberg, Oregon. Cliff's solo style is very accessible to all listeners, and his strong musical ear allows him to fit in immediately in any musical situation. Cliff prides himself in being able to "play the room" - knowing what the gig calls for in order to contribute to the audiences enjoyment, and make the show easy and fun for musicians he's on the stand with. His main influences are the great bay area funk bands, like Tower of Power and Cold Blood, souljazz like the Crusaders and Tom Scott, and jazz trumpeters Greg Adams, Blue Mitchell, Chet Baker, and Clark Terry.
