Thank you for checking out Polycorn's Myspace.
Harmen grew up near Arnhem (The Netherlands), listening to what kids generally listen to at first, but later discovered that some people were actually making music with electronics!
He had eight years of piano-lessons (from the age of seven) but was not so much interested in playing other peoples work as playing new things or adjusting other peoples compositions.
At the age of eleven, the first computerprogram was copied from a book in BASIC to play "Michael Row The Boat Ashore" on a Commodore 64. The program didnt work too well, but at least there was "Michael Row The" before the system repeatedly got stuck and Harmen decided to get back to playing "Giana Sisters".
Nevertheless, from this moment onward, he would focus more and more on electronic music.
After buying his first synth, nothing was more important than using it to the max and moving on to new toys, so over the years mixers, synths and drummachines where added. Naturally a pseudonym was needed (though no-one really knows why) and thus Polycorn was born...
After highschool, Harmen studied Sonology at the Royal Conservatory of The Hague where he met Roel (Funckarma/Quench/Cane) with whom he would create a number of tracks, two of which are released so far.
Harmen graduated in 2003 (?).
In 2004 Polycorn was part of Reboot, a live Drum n Bass band that performed numerous times that year at places like De Melkweg, Legalize It Street Rave, Depart Festival, National DnB Awards, Lowlands Festival and more.
After a combination-for-the-occasion performance at the end of 2005 together with friends Niels Vermeulen and Jurgen van Harskamp, Polycorn joined Sobchek, a live-electronics / glitch / breakbeat / whatever-we-think-sounds-nice group.
Polycorn has done and still does solo work, though the majority is in combination with other artists.
