Founded in november 1988 by 4 very young men from Sandøy and Harøy on the North West coast of Norway. Guitarist, vocalist and main song writer Bjørn Håheim (b. 1972), guitarist Ole André Farstad (b. 1973), bassist Bjarte Sandøy Grønning (b. 1973) and drummer Iver Sandøy (b. 1974).
Released 3 cassette demos in the late 80s/early 90s:
Notify The Situation - Demo '89
Wolves - Demo '90
Maze - Demo 1992
These first songs uploaded are from the '89 and '90 demos. No original (cassette 4-track) master tapes remained, so this digital master was made from a well-worn stereo cassette copy...
Notify The Situation - Demo 1989:
Recorded in a few hours in the afternoon of December 2, 1989, more or less live in the rehearsal space, with vocals and rhythm guitar overdubbed, since the band was a trio at that particular moment in time...
Notify The Situation is the first song Bjørn ever wrote - quite a riff to start things off!
Wolves - Demo '90:
Recorded 6 months later, with Ole André back in the fold. Still live with vocals and solos overdubbed. This was a full-blown cassette album; 10 songs, 45 mins long. Actually got some distribution through the tape trading existing at that time, and also got some favourable reviews in the underground magazines... A progressive thrash masterpiece!
Maze - Demo '92:
The (so far) last release from ILTI MILTA, recorded slightly more professionally, on 8-track analogue tape. The thrash influence is less obvious, although definitely present. A complex, focused and unimitable effort. Songs like Dreamer's Quest and Maze are riff-art at its finest. Guest vocalist on this demo: Kjetil Walseth.
2006: After a short break of 14 years, ILTI MILTA is once again an active band! All 4 original members are parttaking in the resurrection and consequent live presentation of the 'MILTA legacy.
