I'm a bit on the nerdy side. Strike that; I'm a LOT on the nerdy side. I like movies, books (both fiction and non-fiction), playing pool or poker with friends, going to Vegas to gamble and see the shows, etc. Not very big on the bar/club scene. I don't drink (no moral objection against it, it's just not for me), and you would be surprised how boring bars and clubs are when you're stone cold sober.
I'd like to meet a woman who is smart, funny, kind, sweet, and has more depth than a wading pool. Unfortunately, this kind of woman usually wants nothing to do with me.Also, she'd have to read. Books, that is; the latest copy of Cosmo doesn't count. And at least a modicum of interest in the arts. Doesn't have to be artsy-fartsy, just able to occassionally go see something like Cirque du Soleil or maybe Spamalot =)
Exceedingly ecclectic. Whatever I'm in the mood for at the time, which can be anything from early 80s to A Perfect Circle to Frank Sinatra, and everything in between. Not big on country or rap, at least not the stuff being put out now. Basically, if it's good, I'll listen to it.
Big fan of movies. I like everything but sappy romances and crappy horror films. Some of my favorites over the years have been Trainspotting, When Harry met Sally, American Beauty, Shakespeare in Love, Layer Cake, etc etc. I also have a penchant for the classics; I'll watch almost anything with Cary Grant or Bogart.
I love my TiVO. Keeps me from having to watch crappy TV. What I generally record: Deadwood, Entourage, Carnivale, Rome, My Name is Earl, Lost, Battlestar Galactica, Good Eats, and Robot Chicken.
As a teen, I read all the sci-fi/fantasy nerd stuff. As I grew older, I read more mainstream stuff, and even some non-fiction. Good authors I have enjoyed: William Gibson, Arturo Perez-Reverte, Neil Gaiman, James Patterson, tons more.
