About Me

Coming off the back of winning the 2007 Hilltop Hoods Initiative, Jimblah is one artist you definitely want to be checking for when he releases his debut effort early in 2008. For those who don’t know who he is – there are plenty who do know him in the Hip Hop scene – Jimblah is a name that can be associated with such artists as A-Love, Raph Boogie from Mnemonic Ascent and Simplex from Terra Firma, to name a few. It is also a name that has appeared on B-Sharp’s Mixtape Volumes 1 and 2 and on F&D’s track Cool Love – including the associated video clip. Jimblah is someone who represents his Indigenous roots to the fullest, never forgetting nor compromising who he is – a strength of self that shines through in his music. Jimblah moved from the Northern parts of Australia to Adelaide at a young age and quickly fell in to the Hip Hop scene there, originally influenced by more commercial gangsta rap but learning more about Hip Hop as a way of life and a culture the more he became involved in the local scene. He started out by freestyling regularly; rapping with others and writing tracks by the age of 15. Now he represents Hip Hop culture to the full and hopes to follow on from some of his favourite conscious artists such as Talib Kweli, Mos Def and Immortal Technique, by contributing his easy flow, dope beats and reflective lyrics to the local scene. Jimblah has not forgotten his roots, putting back in to the community by working as a tutor for Kurruru Indigenous Youth Performing Arts and travelling out to regional areas such as the Flinders Ranges, Ceduna and Leigh Creek, teaching rap workshops to Indigenous and non-Indigenous youth. 2008 is a year in which Jimblah hopes to really shine bright. His debut release is set to ensure that Jimblah brings the heat on record and his presence on stage is set to bring the heat to a crowd near you.---For More Information or Bookings please contact:Eugenia Flynn 0411899183, [email protected]
