Mister Fixit

About Me

I love life but some situations are truly disheartening. I often come across as someone who doesnt care, but in reality, I do what I can to not deal with Conflict, Turmoil, Loss, Despair, and Heartache. Stress does not exist in my realm. I'm everything you want and everything you dont. I have a talent for Disruption. I can be your superhero, but there will always be tragedy. My patience will kill you. Situations shape who we are. Someone once said that walls were meant to keep people out. I think walls are meant to be broken down by the Patient....and those that possess enough Love in their hearts to do so......Stylz Media is a promotions and development vehicle that is dedicated to identifying, developing, advancing, and showcasing universal artists that approach the trade with a unique perspective. Stylz Media is an avenue of exposure for all sorts of undertakings, from entertainment to entrepreneurial endeavors. Based in Atlanta, Georgia, we have forged a close rapport with many entertainment entities both here and abroad.Focusing on independent artists and getting them the exposure they deserve is gratifying and worthwhile. We would all love to get paid for what we do. Many do what they do because they love doing it……and it’s that passion that drives Stylz Media; I want the world to sample and taste that which I find to be unique and noteworthy. The word ‘artist’ encompasses a large group of people. From graphic to graffiti……..neo soul to culinary architects …..poets to horticulturists…….in addition to those that act, sing, and perform spoken word; the growth of the spoken word community is important to me. The art form, as with all issues, can be elevated through exposure and nurturing. In addition to entertainment endeavors, I have a certain affinity for businesses, organizations, programs, and events that strive to build and reinforce the community.....ALL of our communities. They deserve visibility, and I do as much as I can to render assistance.I have connected with a quite a few of you: I am grateful to those that embraced me. I would like to connect with more of you. Let me know how I can help you to gain additional visibility. Let’s set up an interview. Darkstylz.com is dedicated to showcasing the noteworthy, the extraordinary, and the exemplary. If you would like to have an event featured or have any questions or inquiries, feel free to email us at [email protected].

My Interests

"Together, we can be One." --- DamonPorter

I'd like to meet:

Dr.Michael Eric Dyson, B.B. King, Julian Bond, Jeffrey Wright.
We wear the mask that grins and lies, It hides our cheeks and shades our eyes,— This debt we pay to human guile; With torn and bleeding hearts we smile, And mouth with myriad subtleties. Why should the world be overwise, In counting all our tears and sighs? Nay, let them only see us, while We wear the mask. We smile, but, O great Christ, our cries To thee from tortured souls arise. We sing, but oh the clay is vile Beneath our feet, and long the mile; But let the world dream otherwise, We wear the mask! ---Paul Laurence Dunbar."It's not who we are underneath.......it's what we do that defines us." ----Rachel Dawes

Music:

Most everything...from jazz to hip hop. Miles Davis is soothing in the most unsettling of ways. John Coletrane is also an excellent source of comfort. Ella Fitzgerald........Charlie Parker.....Thelonious Monk....I tend to favor the traditional, although I don't have a problem with some of the modern artists performing on the contemporary scene. The Dungeon Family, Field Mob, Ice Cube, Mos Def....Method Man.....the sounds of a skilled turntablist can be hypnotic..... R&B is in worse shape than hip hop right now. Jill Scott is amazing and gorgeous. Rachelle Farrell has such expression.......supple and strong: a vocal acrobat. Teena Marie melts me with certain notes........

Movies:

Road to Perdition, American History X, Imitation of Life, The Color Purple, Identity, American Psycho, Uptown Saturday Night, Hollywood Shuffle, 40 Year Old Virgin, A Place in the Sun, FACE/OFF, The Star Wars Trilogies: the continuity alone is an object of amazement, Pulp Fiction, Falling Down, Mississippi Masala, Kung Fu Hustle, Crash, Like Water For Chocolate, JASON’s Lyric, Purple Rain, Hotel Rwanda, The Drunken Master.........some Bollywood.......anything Hitchcock, anything Denzel, for a multitude of reasons...
Cool Slideshows

Television:

Scrubs is hilarious.....now that the writer's strike is over, they will be able to have a series finale and wrap up properly....unlike GIRLFRIENDS: it's a disgrace that they won't get a proper sendoff.....Sheryl Lee Ralph has the deepest dimples around....almost as deep as Lauren London's. I can't wait for KNIGHT RIDER to hit tonight. Carpoolers was iffy, but it won't make it past the ripples of the strike....WALMart has decided to drop the DVD format and roll exclusively with BluRay: expect the standard dvd to go the way of the dodo, MC Trouble, and betamax. The YOUNG and the RESTLESS = totally wack.. They went through the trouble of having a major level explosion.....and nobody worth anything perished in the event. It kinda pissed me off, I won't even lie about it. In addition to having a staff of fantastic writers, FRASIER had a cast cohesion that can only come about over time: their timing was exemplary. I'm also an avid fan of the nonscripted/reality genre: BRIDEZILLAs is drama at its finest. I haven't watched The Price is Right since Bob Barker retired. Flava is back. My eye is on HOTLANTA: she's even better in HD. Beyonce Alowishus......holla at a brother.

Books:

J. California Cooper is my absolute favorite author. I also admire the works of Maya Angelou, Toni Morrison, Bebe Moore Campbell(R.I.P.), and some erotic fiction. Doctor Dyson got me reading SONG of SOLOMON. I also enjoy a good biography once in awhile.

Heroes:

The Unloved, the Unsung, the Unnoticed, and the Unforgiven.
