Buried at PhotoCasket.com I am a psychotherapist working in the NHS. I taught yoga for 30 years (which makes me old) and have a longstanding interest in mindfulness meditation and eastern philosophies. I am a frustrated extrovert who can be moody and shy, so highly irritating!(so I'm told, but hey..they're biased) I've been around a while but I tend to act and think like I'm 17. I love clubbing/dancing and being with young minded people whatever their age. I am really interested in people - being a psychotherapist is the next best thing to being nosey - I'm nosey, but also want to help work stuff out with people - even if I can't work my own stuff out sometimes! People have great stories to tell and I love stories... tragedies, romances, mysteries... if I didn't help solve stories and change endings in this way I'd write stories!and make up endings .. I sometimes do anyway! Steve is my partner - whom you can find in my friend section... he's an artist and musician (look up his space) ... so unfortunately (opps) Im not looking for any suitors (he tells me...) mspobj allowScriptAccess="never" allowNetworking="internal" enableJSURL="false" enableHREF="false" saveEmbedTags="true" type="application/x-shockwave-flash"

My Interests

Dancing - clubbing or going to Five rhythms dances - thats a kind of free dance set in an environment which is smoke free, alcohol free - boring? not really! Reading - psychology books for work (sometimes a bit heavy) and Desi novels... about U.K asians experiences of living in U.K. - a laugh a minute!(but sometimes moving and sad) Walking in the countryside or by the sea, exercise of some sort or the other (but not too strenous) and meeting with friends to share gossip (in the nicest possible way ofcourse!)

I'd like to meet:

Well - I've just said - anyone who has a story to tell. I'm fascinated by those who have crossed cultures in their life - either through race, religion or inheritance. I love hearing stories about courageous endeavours - one person's courage is anothers triviality ... but doesn't matter to me... fear can be found in the strangest places. I can be very fearful of silly things, so I like to hear experiences about fear, and also about love, strange meetings - all sorts really.

Music:

R&B; hiphop; Goan trance; urban asian; reggae; world music especially Celloman; indian and arabic classical;

Movies:

Psychological thrillers; Bollywood; Bend it like Beckham; East is East;

Television:

Big Brother (i know its sad); Desi stuff; Kumars; travel documentaries; Wildlife; films

Books:

Spiritual travel stories; Autobiography of a Yogi; Meera Syal's novels; hindu mythology stories; psychology books for work (sometimes heavy, sometimes interesting) autobiographies;

Heroes:

Anyone who has done anything courageous (for them!) Lord Shiva - the Hindu God of Creation and Destruction - cos he does everything I love - dances, meditates, does yoga, makes love; wanders around in graveyards... has very long dreads; and seems to like hashish - personally don't like the graveyard and druggy bit, but it seems to help him with his moody creativeness - his wife, Parvati is even better - she puts up with him and can be sweet, compassionate and totally lethal when she's on the warpath!! Other heroes that personify him/her I guess Martin Luther King, Frankl - anyone who has created something beautiful out of something pretty dire!
