The Glasgow Kiss

an incredibly emotional journey

About Me

Next show Feb. 1st at The Prospector in Long Beach...with special guest BARBARA TRENTALANGE, more TBA.spread the word, TGK is on the move...
Richard and Colin met within the ivory towers of the University while pursuing PhD's in philosophy at UCI. Then came along Swansong, an old musical friend in need of a new outlet of emotive expression. This experience provided the emotional background against which their musical journey began. Linked by a shared interest in emo, indie, and pop music forms Colin, Richard and Swansong set out to begin a musical project that would be at once energetic and fun, while remaining emotionally deep and sophisticated. The Glasgow Kiss is the result of these machinations, a foray into emotionally charged melodic rock with the occassional bit of experimentation. Richard decided to play guitar and sing, Colin decided to play the drums, with Swansong settling on the bass. Anyone interested in seeing us play or helping us out is welcome. We're based out of the OC area with a satellite region in West LA, but are down to do shows on the West Coast generally.

Sounds Like: Compact melodic songs with energy and emotion. Think of the ability to inspire that one finds in a patriotic address, only with a keener musical sensibility. Hearken back to the golden days of late nineties emo and indie rock but with a progressive eye towards the future of experimental melodic composition. Empathic and articulate.
