"Love is a better word" LIVE @ FNAC
No beats, no clicks. no perfection. For this debut solo CD called "Vampires" piano and double bass were recorded live in an auditory in Lisbon- for the songs to be more organic. The grand piano was slightly out of tune, a feature that I couldn't and in this case even wouldn't avoid. I particularly loved that sound of the old piano on that old stage.
Voices and violin were added in a studio.

the album "Vampires" was released DECEMBER 9th, 2007, is in fnac stores all over Portugal and is also available on i-tunes, e-music and other digital labels all over the world.

Meio caminho entre o jazz e sonoridades mais pop, «Vampires», por estes dias editado, é o primeiro álbum de Nicole Eitner. Dez originais e duas versões compõem uma estreia interessante de uma cantora a ter em conta.
Fez-se notar primeiro em concerto, e só agora surge nos escaparates «Vampires», primeiro álbum para Nicole Eitner, germânica radicada em Portugal, figura próxima ideologicamente de nomes como Kate Bush ou Liz Frazer. Musicalmente, no entanto, o jazz é a referência maior na sonoridade da compositora e pianista, aqui acompanhada ao contrabaixo e violino.
Nicole compôs, interpretou e produziu todo o álbum, prova genuínade uma entrega fora do comum à obra artística, factor que só engrandece «Vampires». Se, em matéria de composição, se sentem ainda uma série de ideias por expandir, a verdade é que um punhado de excelentes canções chega para afastar, por ora, o fantasma da banalidade.
Menção especial para as duas versões presentes no disco - «Love is a Better World» (original dos Rainbirds) e «You Spin me Round», dos Dead or Alive - por sinal dois dos melhores momentos de uma estreia que chega, por ora, para colocar Nicole Eitner como um nome a ter em conta. E isso já não é nada mau.
