Gerdt was formed in winter 2004-2005 when trends of technic and clean hardcore forced us to try to make shitty mixture of finn-hardcore of 80's and crust of 90's - with something new to say, of course.
We made our first rehealsal demo spring 2005 at Vuoritalo, Helsinki, where we practiced at the time. We decided not to release the demo, but some of the tracks can be found on some compilations, for example "Yes, she really can!" by Slut Sisters Unity and "Kassut takaisin siwoihin" by Silakka..
We played lots of gigs in the triangle of Vuoritalo, Factory (Helsinki) and Vastavirta (Tampere) and went to studio in the spring of 2006. The result was the 13-track tape "Helvetin mukavaa", which was released by Vehement Sonus.
One year after that it was spring again and we recorded 6 tracks for the debut 7" which turned out to be the last recordings we made. The lifespan of the band was like it's music: short, fast and crappy. We won't rest in peace, but will do something else instead.
