BIOGRAPHY:
I was born and raised in NJ, a Singer/Songwriter/Choreographer and have been performing since I could walk... My sisters were always playing music and dancing around the house, that influenced me a lot. My Mom would play Elvis Presley all the time ~ I definitely get "my gift of singing" from her. My parents would take the whole family out to Spirto's in Elizabeth, NJ ~ I could always be found dancing at the jukebox. What can I say - its in my blood. Music is my life.. it is my love, and my passion and without it I would be empty. In high school, I discovered that I loved to sing, as well as dance. My best friend and I would tear the house down at our variety show for Edison High. Thats when I realized this was something that I must pursue. In my twenties, I started entering singing Karaoke contests.. One night a perfect stranger asked me if I would be interested in his band.. The name Superfresh wasn't appealing to me but I went for it. I remember praying in the bathroom before the first set for God to be with me.. To guide me so to speak, and "please God let me remember all of the lyrics." I started studying with Pattie Opie, my vocal coach, its the VBT (vocal behavior training) technique, and she taught me so much. From there, I was with
Sidewalk talk. Can you guess why I chose that name? That was one of Madonnas first tunes back in 1988. I was approached one night singing at Kryans in Metuchen, NJ by a manager who was looking for a singer/choreographer to be apart of an up and coming band called Polyester - I ended up running the band for 5 years, it was a wonderful experience, boy - did I learn a lot. It was a 70s show, with lots of flare.
Currently I am with the top NJ cover band
The Party Dolls, that have been on the cover circuit for 17 years. The show consists of 3 female vocalists up front putting on a fabulous show with choreography, costumes and wigs performing hits from the 60s through current. I love this band so much. It has been an incredible experience for me. There is no place I would rather be, as far as the cover circuit goes. I also perform with a dear friend of mine,
Lisa Coppola as a choreographer/back up singer, frequently.
I was a movie extra in NY in Cadillac Man with Robin Williams, State of Grace with Sean Penn, and Soap Dish with Sally Fields, and Robert Downey Jr That was an experience in itself.
I dabble with writing tunes when Im happy or sad. "Flower in a Garden" was written when I was really learning a lot about myself, and I had finally found love. Originals are still a work in progress for me. Thats all folks!
