About Me

So who is Davey Dee anyway? Well...it all started in the 70's (most people on here probably wont remember/weren't born yet) I started out my musical career as a drummer, just like my Dad. I switched to guitar at age 12, learning the mighty riff to Smoke On The Water, and I was hooked. Did the usual high school band thing, talent shows and dances etc. Then at 18 began my bar band career on the N.J. circuit, unfortunately which I'm still in. Then came the 80's, big hair & short jackets. I embraced them wholly, and still do. My bands then included Protege & Jump Street. Around 1988 I formed Champion, an original group with an eye on the elusive recording deal. Yes, we were Bon Jovi/Def Leppard clones, but who wasn't! After 3 years of recording & touring and being turned down by every label in America, we split up. Oh well, back to the bars! Funny enough, I've reunited with former Champion vocalist J.B. Frederick in the last few years, and played on 4 tracks on his new CD Know It Or Not. So the 1990's were spent playing with Jump Street for 5 years, then Heaven's Choice for the next five. Hey, at least I worked. In 2000 I joined The Party Dolls, and am still a member today. It's a fun group that has plenty of work, plus nice people to work with. The band has recorded 4 cd's, I've played on the last two. So anyway, the last few years I've been getting the itch to write again, and last year purchased some recording gear. While learning how to use it, I'm working on some new songs that will hopefully be my retirement fund. Check 'em out, hope you like 'em.
