Behold, Silent Scenery First Ever Music Video Tale Of A Wooden Door Directed By Ian Kirk The Interlude (Live) Shot By Chawirat Tan Counting Thirty Three (Live @ Dasein Deconstruction Exhibition) Video Courtesy Of Dongtaidu | Shot and edited by Phang & Zhoong Min Silent Scenery Biography Write Up Silent Scenery started of as an acoustic singer-songwriter project, during those days; Kit can always be seen performing with random sessionist. Silent Scenery plays soft, melodic tunes with intense lyrics and humming vocals. In the early days, bands like Smashing Pumpkins,Nirvana, and Radiohead heavily influenced Kit, but right after Kit got inspired by bands like Mogwai and Explosions In The Sky, he decided to form a band that play something that combines the elements of his early and late influences. In the year 2007, Silent Scenery turns into a complete band, having Lipei on the bass, Ivan on second guitar, and Feroze on drums while Kit take care of the vocals, guitar and ambient effects. In 2008, Feroze stepped down from the drums position due to some personal commitment. The drums position soon be taken by Sawaki Seikan, a young, half japanese, half chinese drummer. The Beginning Due to the broke up of his previous band, Kit decided to start his own solo acoustic project in 2004. The name Silent Scenery came into his mind in the morning of the 12th of June 2004 when he stumbled upon I-bands (A Malaysian Independent Music Web page). With just a guitar, and a friend's laptop, Kit recorded his first song "Walk" and loaded it up on I-bands. Silent Scenery didn't get a lot of response until he loaded up "Love Inside Your Head" on the page on the following day. "Love Inside Your Head" made it to the 2nd place in I-bands overall chart in two months time. Since then, Silent Scenery has been one of the most important things in Kit's life.In February 2005, Kit decided to open a Myspace band account in order to get closer to people who are interested in his music. Kit put in a larger amount of effort in that year to reach out for bigger amount of audience. He continues to record and load up songs on Myspace for people to download. On the 18th of June 2006, Silent Scenery finally gets to play an acoustic set in Troubadours/Open Doors, a local short film screening and acoustic performance show hosted by Ian Chow in KLPAC. After that show, Kit spend two and a half month in his bedroom studio, recording his first demo entitled "GREEN" which later on released on 2nd September 2006. Silent Scenery also played an acoustic set on the same day at Wing's Cafe but the response wasnt very encouraging.Fifteen days before New Year, Silent Scenery performs his final show for the year in "This Is Acoustic IV", an acoustic show organized by Ian Chow in KLPAC. The show closes the year for Silent Scenery in a very pleasant way.Silent Scenery six songs EP is schedule to be release on 12th July 2008.Silent Scenery Reviews "Armed with an acoustic guitar, this solo project by Kienkit, a non-believer and free thinker whose belief in god ends with suspicion that a higher power lurks somewhere else. He doesnt have the answer where and its his search that makes his music so good. He spends his time writing songs, and recently released his debut demo album, titled Green. Citing Kurt Cobain, John Lennon, and Elliott Smith as heroes, this singer-songwriter takes ordinary circumstances of everyday life, and turns them into profound songs " - Junk Magazine "Silent Scenery - One man show reminiscent of John Lennon and Elliott Smith" - Klue Magazine “Silent Scenery’s music has a promising blend of different musical genre, most
notably the brit-pop, new wave sound and American alternative rock with a
splice of folk. This unique assimilation of sounds can be considered a rarity
as the band balances the experimental, unassuming, side of British music and
the unwavering boldness of American rock with with relative control and ease,
one meshing almost seamlessly into the other in support of a wholeâ€
- RAGE, The Star Newspaper “What began as a solo project has now become a quartet with Kit's Silent
Scenery.Consisting of bassist and backup vocalist Teoh Li Pei, drummer Feroze
Shah Khan and second guitarist Ivan Cheong, with Chan doing vocal and
guitar duties, the band plays moving shoegaze and post rock musicâ€
- New Straits Times "The Interlude evokes a certain kinda emotion.Neither sad, neither happy, but it does makes me mellow. Like at the end of one day, you kick back to unwind with it. The perfect record for a "staring at a scenery" kinda feel. Tale Of A Wooden Door was not the same. It was on a happier, hopeful note, and thats why its my all time favourite" - WL, A Dreamy Writer "One of the coolest new bands around. worth listening to their tale. Hardworking, talented and of course, cool music!" - Auburn Silent Scenery Past Shows
