Singer/songwriter, and talented guitarist Jamal has recently recorded his debut album “Good Times” (written, arranged and produced by him).
Born Louisville, Kentucky, to a preacher mum and a builder dad, Jamal was singing in a church choir from the age of 6. He began his career after a bet in a karaoke bar that he couldn’t sing ’Smells like teen spirit’, and he stunned the crowd when it sounded as good as Kurt! "Then someone showed me a couple of chords on the guitar and I was able to play instantly”. From then Jamal lived and breathed music, he taught himself to read music and began writing his own material.
All his material is about real situations, people and places.... It was racism that inspired him to use music as a way to convey his message "first we’re souls, then we’re human, then we are a race", and it is through his music that Jamal hopes to reach and unite people.... "I just want to use my music to make people happy – roll and roll with Jamal’s soul”.
