K-JAYBorn Kenneth Coulter Jr. on June 20th in Fort Worth, Texas, K-Jay started astrenuous journey that would lead him to being recognized as one of music'smost notable up and coming artists. His infatuation with music started in highschool, his peers encouraged him to begin rapping and it was then that hestarted honing his skills.Being musically involved as a drummer in his church and also a saxophonistin his high school band, his musical interests grew stronger.Influenced by all kinds of music from Jazz to Gospel, he became infatuatedwith Hip Hop & studied records by Scarface, U.G.K., Outkast, Bone Thugs,The Late Greats Biggie & Tupac, Jay-Z, & Snoop Doggy Dog, as well as manyother hip-hop and R&B, and Gospel artists. If provided a chance to work withany one artist he would work with Stevie Wonder, mainly because of themusical impact that Stevie has had on musicians world wide. Aside fromStevie, others responsible for K-Jay's influences are Russell Simmons, L.L.Cool J, and Sean P. Diddy Combs. K-Jay's goal is to bring good music backto the people and help push the examples of good music set forth by artistslike Kanye West, Outkast, and Jay-Z.By pursuing a career in Gospel music, K-Jay plans to bring spiritualconsciousness to the Hip-hop community, which is largely overlooked bymost Hip-hop followers and artists. In part, he will lead a movement that putsGospel-Hip-hop Music on the map and follow in the footsteps of one of hismajor influences... Russell Simmons.
