Debut records (they don't call me "Johnny First Album" for nothin'), hard cups of coffee, daydreaming, the warm tremelo of a vintage wurlitzer, shopping for shoes, digging through record bins, screen printing, art/design, and road trips to nowhere.
I'm afraid to meet anyone I look up to - especially one who makes great art - because it requires coming face to face with the harsh reality that this person is only human, and humans are always just a big disappointment, period.
I'm a bit of a nerdy record collector. I play music at extreme volumes when I'm alone in my car. I'm a buyer for a record store. I like to watch those "VH1 Classic Albums" series. My iPod and I have a rather intimate relationship. I am convinced that the Golden Age of Pop (and underground) Music occurred between 1967-1979. That's the stuff that really jiggles my bean. This is not to say there is no good music being made anymore... in fact I think there is a resurgence of greatness happening right now.
