Mike Maurer is Singer-Songwriter and Guitarist. Mike started playing guitar at age 13, when he was captivated by the blues. He studied the music of B.B. King, Freddie King and Buddy Guy among others. Performing mainly as the Lead Guitarist of the Denver reggae band Irie Still, Mike has made a transition towards the blues genre with his recently formed group the Mike Maurer Trio. Mike decided to go completely blues with his new power trio after playing in a variety of local Denver bands. Mike is accompanied by two respected players in Denver, Chris Harris (bass) and Drew Emmert (Drums). Currently Mike is recording in the studio for the release of his first solo album which is expected to be released in the spring of 2007. With the release of Mike’s first solo album the sky is the limit.
