Revelation Union started in early 2006 when founding members, guitarist Lonnie Jones and drummer Jason (J Heat) Heathman, got together with Bubba Rai on bass to jam. Lonnie and J Heat had reunited after going separate ways from the defunct 8th Fold. Former vocalist and guitar player Jason DeLaurentis of Hybridity, an experimental hard rock band, answered an ad for a vocalist and an immediate connection was made. Old ideas from Lonnie and J Heat took on a whole new meaning with Jason D’s vocals and writing. The band and Bubba Rai parted ways. Jon Muniz stepped in on bass and stunned everyone with his musicianship. Quickly gaining speed and developing sound, this band is excited and eager to play for the masses. Their sound will breathe new life into an era of music that has been dormant for too long. The vocals are heartfelt and delivered with passion and energy, not to mention a unique talent. The dual guitar work of Jason D and Lonnie is stunning. The bass playing is phenomenal, as Jon is a spectacular guitarist as well as bass player. The music is held together by the energetic and tasteful drumming of J Heat. The overall sound is pure hard rock at it’s finest with excellent musicianship and well written songs about the life and experiences of the band members. Revelation Union is forging their way to becoming a band to be heard. Anyone wanting a refreshing taste of great hard rock should see this band live. The shows are awesome!
Jon Muniz learned to play the guitar at age 11. Since then, he has further specialized in classical guitar and bass guitar. His influences include Petrucci, Malmsteen, Eric Johnson, David Russell, Alkaline Trio, and Hot Water Music. He was involved with local bands Bonecase and Cruiserweight before joining Revelation Union in 2007. Currently, he is a senior at Colorado School of Mines, earning a BS in engineering.
Jason Heathman started playing drums in High School. His bands played parties and church functions. He has previously played in two successful local bands, 8th Fold and Culprit. Jason studied music at Metro and majored in music performance. His influences include Alex Van Halen, Bonham, Moon, Matt Cameron, Scott Phillips, Chad Smith, and Chris Beers (instructor and friend).
Lonnie started his musical career playing bass in local hard core bands in Florida throughout the early 90s. He then took a break from music and moved to Denver in 2000. By 2001 he picked up the electric guitar and began playing open blues jams with some of Denver’s finest musicians. He then joined a few alternative projects through which he had the opportunity to play well-known places in Denver such as the Hard Rock Café and the Gothic theater. Lonnie can still be seen playing local blues jams and continues to play progressive rock with Revelation Union.
Born and raised in Chicago IL. He picked up his first guitar at 13 while being exposed with the echoes of Jimi Hendrix, AC/DC Ozzy Osbourne, Metallica, Def Leppard, Kiss, etc…Around the same time discovering his Dad’s record collection which opened a whole new world of music consisting of Frank Zappa, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Robin Trower, Yes, and Tower of Power to name a few. His style uniquely formed, then unleashed through the making of his band Hybridity which formed when he relocated to Colorado in 2003. He is very excited to express his vocal and musical ability further into the threshold of music through Revelation Union!
