With the advent of his new album, The Source , Jon's dedication to his melodic pop/rock sound is evident. The sleek sophistication of his voice and image, combined with a strong desire to tap into the human experience, will be apparent in this latest offering. " The things that usually inspire me to write often seem to reflect my observations and experience of the human condition", says Jon. He has often found himself compared to a contemporary Duran Duran, whose latest tracks have garnered great success. But Jon is set on evolving his own unique sound, melding earnest lyrics that speak to universal themes with a rare clarity not always seen in today's pop music market. With tracks from the CD produced and co-written by Haywire's David Rashed and Creghton Doane ( Melanie Doane, Harem Scarem), his songs are intertwined with romantic themes , positive messages, and observations of modern culture. Such attention isn't new to the young man who started his first touring band at 15.It's this commitment to success that drove him to make his first album, Following Yesterday, and set the stage for his second self-titled album, produced by Steve Negus, of the legendary Canadian band Saga. The CD spawned two successful singles and generated critical acclaim in Europe. Jon remarks," As a teenager, I was highly influenced by Saga, so to have the chance to work with Steve was a career highlight". His third CD, Day After Day , was well received by both fans & commercial radio , producing another pair of charting singles in Canada.Consistently writing and recording from his home studio, expect more in the near future from this talented singer/ musician as he continuously hones his ever-evolving sound. "For me, melody is the most important part of the song," he says. "It's what people take away with them, what they remember, everything else is secondary.JON FAST FACTS :
