"No Whining .... Just ROCK!"

About Me

OBIT Reads:...... VOODOO KITCHEN 1992-2000...... Voodoo Kitchen had a healthy run as the opening act for all things metal at The Chance Theater in Pok. NY, be it local faves (S.A.T.O.) or national acts (Warrant, Slaughter, Great White, Dee Snider, Sebastian Bach, Tesla, Firehouse, Kix and Zebra) VK sought to get the audience rocking with their groove laden originals and crowd pleasing covers (their KISS medley while opening for Warrant is still discussed in reverential tones) and judging by fan reaction they did just that. The Chance was still recieving phone calls about VK's next gig years after their untimely demise. Born from a cover band that employed drummer Dave Steinman and Guitar/Vocalist Craig Perry, VK was completed when Craig nabbed fellow record store employee Dave Wirsch to play bass. For three men that met in their early twenties it seemed they had known each other all their lives and a musical sympatico was created. The band didn't need to speak or explain their musical direction to each other, they instinctively knew where they were going. In fact, they were so much in tune with each other, that when Dave and Dave left NY for greener job pastures (in San Diego and Arizona) Craig stayed behind to muse.."I could never keep VK going with different people, we were three parts of one musical person... you can't cut off both of my balls and expect me to keep f-%..@ ing." The three remain great friends and welcome the day that situations align and a VOODOO KITCHEN reunion can take place (be it one show or many)..... You can check out Dave Steinman's latest band at myspace.com/staticforzen..... and Dave Wirsch can be found at myspace.com/greenhaven
