What about me?_Concert Promotor & Manager at perron55 in Venlo (Netherlands) _Freelance Tourmanager _Freelance Sound Engineer (live and studio)

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

I'd like to meet the good reverend Martin Luther King but unfortunately he's no longer with us... I bet he'd be doing a mean version of Louie Louie though. But really.. at this very moment, I'd like to sit down and have a chat with the Hästens guy and talk him in to giving me one of those cool beds he makes. I'll do him a nice favour in return.

Music:

My Life's blood! Will try to maintain a list of the last couple of items I added to my pile-o-vinyl(tm).

I've been listening to a lot of music lately.. more than ever actually. I've discovered a lot of new and interesting bands. And still it's a blast to finally find the first LP that the dutch 60's/70's legends 'the Outsiders' ever put out. I've actually met Ron Splinter a couple of times.. mainly because a friend of mine plays in a band with him. He's such a nice and humble person really.. I guess he's always been in it for the music. Check out this new band if you get a chance.. they're Amsterdam based ofcourse, and named after the main square in that great city "The Dam".

Talking about great music. Geert at Sounds (my favourite record-store) hooked me up with Dyke & the Blazers. Another one of those great 'raw soul' singers from back then. There's an incredible treasure of music like this, including the "black rock 'n roll", "stompin!" and many more series. Candy Records put out some awesome stuff as well.

If you're in the USA by the way, make sure to check out the MAN MAN tour-schedule on their myspace page. If they're anywhere near your town, GO AND CHECK THEM OUT! They are on top of their game, people. AWESOME STUFF!

Another couple of guys that do not cease to amaze me: Patrick Watson. Brilliant and amazing.. the only way I can describe their/his music is Jeff Buckley without the straightjacket. Truly Amazing. I have added a little video (poor quality.. shot with my phone).. but it's still well worth watching. In this little movie: Patrick and Simon are standing in the middle of a 700-strong crowd.. playing a tune, acoustic.. they basically just jumped off stag and did it. Magical moments..

Nobody does it like Thom Yorke. The man has the ability to shape music, mould it like wax. I am truly amazed by it. The things he does seem to spring from my own mind, live in it somehow. It's that cl...

Although he's often mistaken for just one of those 'pretty boy' actors, Leonardo di Caprio is all but that. He is a damn fine actor, as far as I'm concerned. His performance in "Marvin's room" still h...
