My Interests

Travelling, learning, chilli sauce, summer rain, flip-flops, laughing, Spain and all things hispanic, my family and friends, stargazing, music, yoga, dancing, swimming, other cultures and religions, sleeping, mangoes, cycle-touring, moments of clarity, walking in the countryside, writing lists, H&M, cooking, picnics, dark chocolate, collecting shells then leaving them until they get really smelly.

I'd like to meet:

Lovely people.

Music:

Ooh, tricky one... Anything that's good, played with passion. Mostly funk, folk, reggae, latin sounds (salsa, son, bossa nova, flamenco fusion-type stuff), afrobeat, blues, indie/rock, electronic and anything that makes me lose it on the dancefloor. Oh, and a bit of classical.

Movies:

Anything that makes me think, laugh or cry, including Together, Secrets & Lies, Amores Perros, Eternal Sunshine of a Spotless Mind, Leon, Dancer in the Dark, E.T., Amelie, Dirty Dancing, The Shawshank Redemption, Withnail & I, Being John Malkovich, Life is Beautiful, Thelma & Louise, Motorcycle Diaries, Gorillas in the Mist, Before Sunrise and Before Sunset, Cinema Paradiso, Il Postino, Usual Suspects, Rear Window, cheesy 80s American high school movies...and I'll stop there.

Television:

I try to avoid turning it on, otherwise it has an evil ability to suck me into watching shite for hours, but I do love the Simpsons, wildlife/nature programmes and documentaries (just watched Favela Rising on C4, a spine-tinglingly inspiring doc about a man who uses music to fight violence in the Rio slums).

Books:

Amongst other things The Alchemist, The God of Small Things, The Kite Runner, Atonement and The Little Prince.

Heroes:

My late Mum, my late Grandma, and my amazing grandparents who, in their late 80s, still grow their own veg and go walking in the Lake District.
