About Me

I'm on imdb.com now, kinda a big deal. Yeah. Tall. Texan. Lefty. Funnier than you. Wearing a mask of false bravado. I'm a native Houstonian living in the Texas oasis of Austin. I play bass in the best band ever, Skyrocket!, aka the band formerly known as the K-Tel Hit Machine.26

My Interests

Yes, music. Also sports, particularly NBA basketball (Houston Rockets) and major league baseball (Houston Astros). UT football. Sci-fi. History. The Texas hill country. Progressive politics.Tex-Mex food anytime, all the time. Hanging out with the missus and my dogs.

I'd like to meet:

The man who put the bomp in the bomp bah bomp bah bomp.

Music:

All of it. Every friggin' note ever written, performed, recorded, hummed in the shower, stuck in somone's head and they couldn't get it out until someone brought up another one, from the first rythm pounded out on a rock at the dawn of sentient man to whatever is being written at this very moment. I dig it. Except "Burning Flame" by Vitamin Z. God, what a horrid piece of crap that was.

Movies:

12 Angry Men. Dr. Strangelove. All Monty Python. All Christopher Guest. Raising Arizona. Star Trek flicks. Serenity. Juno.

Television:

Corner Gas. A lot of shows on Fox that were cancelled (Firefly, Andy Richter Controls the Universe, Titus) Battlestar Galactica; All Trek; Red Dwarf; NBC Thursday, Fox Sunday; SNL; Adult swim; It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia

Books:

I read a lot of reference materials - stats, lists, dates, blah blah blah. Winston Churchill: "A Study in Greatness"; In Cold Blood; The DaVinci Code; scores of books on famous bands/musicians

Heroes:

Winston Churchill. My parents. Macca. Hakeem. Bill Clinton - If for nothing else, anyone who can twist up the collective neocon panty like he did is aces in my book. Then there's that whole "Peace and Prosperity" thing. Jean Luc Picard. Bill, JB, and Ernie. Hank Hill. SKYROCKET!

Pox on, pox off

It's been a couple of hours since my "a pox upon them" blog; since then I've realized this: why should that matter to me? Good God man, grow a pair. So....pox off.

A pox upon them!

I just noticed I am not in the "Top 8 (or 10, 12, and so on) on any of my bandmates (The K-Tel Hit Machine/Skyrocket/Whatever we're calling ourselves) myspace pages.

It's Blog!/dead presidents

I've seen alot of blogs where people go into great detail about what little regard they have for writing blogs, reading blogs, snickering at the word "blog". I have no real opinion on them. However, ...
