Yvo Curtessi
The foundation of Yvo Curtessi's visuals and video art is acquired as he gets a hold on his first camera to dedicate himself as a skateboard fanatic by making skateboard films. The Rotterdammer enjoys filming, editing, and manipulating of footage so much that the link to an education in that area is made easily. It becomes audiovisual design at the Willem de Kooning Academy where he graduades in 2004 succesfully. Since then his AV-production company Y.C.K is focussing on several projects. He has done productions for LOreal, Beeldspraak, OOR Magazine, MTV and Secret Cinema. For this last one hes currently busy with the production of a videoclip for the newest album Skunk and Espresso. Besides that the artists work together during performances crossing boarders all over the world where Yvo accompanies the live-set of Secret Cinema by close-fitting visuals. Yvo Curtessi's work characterizes itself through intensity, diversty and speed: from super-fast evolving organisms to industrial abstract moving forms to the street culture and the surrealistic arcitecture of metropolises as Tokyo and of course Rotterdam, mixed at each other through own hard- and software. He gets inspired by Music, films, games, good food, travelling, subcultures, my girlfriend and all that other lovely women on the dancefloor.For bookings contact:
