"SPORTIVE" by ADDICTIVE TV
Sportive, Addictive TV's audiovisual installation for the Adidas "Art in Sport" exhibition for the 2008 Olympics is now touring China. Having started at Shanghai's Museum of Contemporary Arts, where Addictive TV also performed at the opening, the exhibition now visits seven cities across China, ending in Beijing to co-incide with the 2008 Olympic Games. The exhibition is currently at the Museum of Modern Art in Nanjing. A review by Bloomberg on the Chinese Art website Artron said of the piece...
"A video by Addictive TV (London audiovisual artist-remixers Graham Daniels and Tolly) begins with a heartbeat and a runner and crescendos with sounds, actions and muscles. It's so effective it makes you want to dash out and smack a ball!"
SHOTS magazine recently wrote a piece on the Sportive installation.

ADDICTIVE TV SHOOT EM UP
Once again, movie marketeer's in Hollywood asked Addictive TV to create an audiovisual remix viral for one of their new releases, and this time writer/director Michael Davis' cult-in-the-making Shoot 'Em Up had the Addictive TV treatment.
A smash when first previewed at the Comic Con in San Diego, and released September 2007, the film - starring Clive Owen and Monica Bellucci- is a relentless and visceral action thriller taken to cartoony proportions (more than a slight nod to Bugs Bunny here) where a mysterious lone hero with a very dark sense of humour has some clever ways of getting out of bad situations to protect a newborn baby...
ADDICTIVE TV REMIX JAPANESE ANIME "TEKKONKINKREET"
What a fantastic movie to sample and remix! Addictive TV were commissioned to audiovisually remix the long-awaited Sony anime extravaganza for the Japanese TV campaign and as an internet viral. The remix trailer also appears on the film's soundtrack CD alongside remixes by Derrick May, Prefuse 73 and Mark Vidler's Go Home Productions.
Based on the massively popular manga comic by Taiyo Matsumoto and with a soundtrack by Warp artists Plaid, the manga epic Tekkon Kinkreet is directed by Michael Arias - the man behind The Animatrix and now the first Western director to head-up a major Japanese anime feature film. The movie deals with the relationship between two street kids living in an abandoned car in a pan-Asian Megalopolis struggling to maintain its character and humanity in the face of pressures for development and globalisation.

We're the London based audio/visual artists and DJ/producers known for our film remix cut-up work - particularly our breakbeat remix of The Italian Job (short clip on the left) that landed us work for tinseltown. In 2006 we remixed the Antonio Banderas film Take the Lead (see below) creating an audiovisual dance track viral for the films promo campaign. The viral also won an award from Adland, the advertising industry website and online archive of commercials.
Last summer we also remixed the Samuel L. Jackson movie Snakes on a Plane too for the US TV trailers (also see left).
More of our AV and DJ mixes are also at Samurai FM
And for the blurb...

Kraftwerk frontman Karl Bartos.
Performing internationally, criss-crossing the art and club worlds with live cinema projects and audiovisual club sets, the guys have headlined in settings as diverse as the Pompidou Centre in Paris, the Museum of Contemporary Arts in Shanghai and the National Theatre in London to Tokyo superclub Womb, Razzmatazz in Barcelona and multi-media club Mighty in San Francisco. From Las Vegas to Dubai, they've played in countless cities in over 40 countries, including the USA, Canada, Brazil, Japan, China, Thailand, Russia, all across Europe and have even toured the Gulf States, including in Saudi Arabia and Kuwait.
They've worked closely with Pioneer on the development and testing of all their AV performance hardware, including Pioneer's DVJ DVD turntables (which they were the first to use back in 2003) and now their new audiovisual mixer - the SVM-1000. They've also tested equipment for Roland/Edirol, Korg and Numark

Addictive TV are also behind the visual music event Optronica at the National Film Theatre & bfi London IMAX cinema.
"Light years beyond the gallery realm of masters like Bill Viola, this British collective’s collages do more than question typical art concepts. Melding elements of graphic design with a sound designer's sensibility and a taste for eye-catching celluloid booty, these mixmasters and musicians create something otherworldly and all-encompassing from behind their Kraftwerk-style wall of synth-and-video-modules."
