Nadia Comaneci - the first gymnast to every score a perfect 10 at the Olympics plus winner of 5 Olympic gold medals and in 2005 Fox.com elected the Greatest Athletes in 150 years of Sports history Nadia placed 4th in the final voting, ahead of Pele and Mohammad Ali and was the highest ranked female athlete,- Natalie Du Toit - A swimmer born with mild Down Syndrome and having had her leg amputated at the knee she went on to win both the multi-disability 50 m freestyle and the multi-disability 100 m freestyle in world record time at the 2002 Common Wealth Games. She also made sporting history by qualifying for the 800 m able-bodied freestyle final - the first time that an athlete with a disability had qualified for the final of an able-bodied event. At the closing Games she was presented with the first David Dixon Award for Outstanding Athlete of the Games.In 2003 competing against able-bodied swimmers she won gold in the 800 metres freestyle at the All-Africa Games as well as silver in the 800 metres freestyle and bronze in the 400 metres freestyle at the Afro-Asian Games. - Michael Schumaker - enough said! - my 3 year old neice...she rocks!
