The mass of men lead lives of quiet desperation.

About Me

I'm from Wilmington, NC originally. Moved here in '99 to finish at UNC .

I'm an atheist in the South. In a country where 50% of people have negative opinions of atheists, I would posit that the percentage of negative opinion is higher here. While I don't "preach", it does come up in conversation, such as "Where do you go to church?" Funny how I don't care.

I'm sarcastic and opinionated, but I always try to base my opinions on facts and am more than willing to change an opinion when new facts arise.

I love math, history, biology, physics, computers, cosmology, religious discussions, philosophical disussions (although if you mention specific philosophers, I'll just look dumb), and a wide array of subjects.

I also love my dog, Polly, my most recent addition...you can see her in the pics section.

My Interests

I'm not interested in country music, not overly fond of poetry, and I've gotten tired of discussing politics (for now, give me a couple of years).Everything else is fair game.
