Marina Lenore Abramov - New Yorker, composer, ASCAP member, prize winner for compositions in multiple genresand most of all, a woman blessed to be inspired by music.My passion and desire for music is boundary-less. Growing up in a household of composers and singers, music became a significant part of my life. Between the ages of four and ten, I already solidified my ability to recognize and identify by ear, the essential components of the musical language such as intervals, rhythms, motifs, modes, metres, as well as distinguish various qualities of sound.As a little girl growing up in Russia, I was already responding to the music that was always in our home. That love continued after we came to the United States in 1989 when I was just 10 years old, and by the mid-1990s I had begun to compose innovative musical works that challenged some of the most widely accepted ideas in the modern classical tradition. My music speaks of joy and sadness, of laughter and tearsin a language understood by all and a style that is uniquely my own. Modern classical, pop, ballads, Latin, dance, rhythm and blues - my compositions take many forms, but their meaning and their beauty soar clearly with every note.In 2004, VH1s Song of the Year named me a top finalist in the R&B category for Fools Love, and a few months later, Heaven Only Knows won a first place for me as best emerging songwriter in the pop category in a competition sponsored by McClure & Trowbridge Publishing. Last winter, my Latin ballad, Cuentame received honorable mention in the USA Song Writing Competition.I have always envisioned myself composing innovative music for Motion Picture Producers and Artists who sought a break from the ordinary. I remain motivated working endlessly towards achieving my dream and my personal goal to establish a unique career as a Songwriter/Composer.The emotions you hear in my compositions blend with those of each individual performer, making each piece a tribute to both concept and expression.
